Preschool Music Program 2016

Wow, I think it has been my longest absence ever on the blog. I apologize to my few followers! I have a couple of good reasons, and I will be getting into that soon. In the meantime, please enjoy these videos from Grace's preschool program! Some of the videos are a bit long so it won't hurt my feelings if you don't watch the whole thing.

The music teacher is Mrs. Lester, and she is the mom of one of the kids in the class. She and I became friends through play dates because Grace gets along really well with her son. She is a fun lady and Grace really enjoyed doing music with her!

Grace's First Piano Recital

Grace played her first piano recital this weekend!

She was so excited to play!

A couple mistakes, but all in all, a wonderful and brave performance!

Grammy and Grandudes Come to Visit

Grammy and Grandudes came to visit for my birthday weekend!

Their flight arrived very late Thursday night, so the girls didn't see them until the morning the next day.

The girls were rested and ready for action!

Grammy read lots of books

and enjoyed a good game of squish face.

A walk to the park in a very brisk temperature woke us up.

Grammy got some snuggles!

Clara had her first swim lesson over the weekend also! I think it was a bit scary but she was excited at the end of it anyway. I'm hoping this weekend it goes even better!

Next we went bowling! I love bowling so it was my idea to celebrate my birthday. I'm also terrible at it by the way, haha! Here, Grace demonstrates the classic kid technique.

But little did I know, there was something even better! Now they have rolling racks for the kiddos. Genius! Even Clara could enjoy it! The girls were adorable taking turns pushing it down.

A bowling victory celebration!

Clara loved feeling the air on her belly. Such a goof ball!

Another walk to the park!

Grammy helps Grace get her footing.

Grandudes finds the kid at heart on the swing

and with the diggers!

We had a wonderful visit. It ended too soon!

Clara's First Symphony Concert

Clara was so excited to see her first symphony concert!

Grace has been, but Clara had not because I was too afraid to take two kids on my own. Since Clara stopped taking afternoon naps some time ago, I had no more excuses!

I'm glad we did it! Clara enjoyed waving to Daddy and clapping wildly after every piece.

A pre concert selfie!

Grace enjoyed it too!

Valentine's Day

We started Valentine's Day celebrations with a party at Preschool.

Grace worked hard on cutting out and decorating them all.

I think they turned out pretty cute!

Grace was proud to hand them out. She also wrote everyone's name on the back.

We were presented with these after preschool! She made the hearts out of salt dough.

Proudly modeling my first piece of mom jewelry.

Next we headed to the Kids Art Studio for a Valentine crafting party!

Clara LOVED gluing these hearts on paper. I was moving between the two of them, and every time I came up to her and she would say "it's not done yet!"

The finished product makes me smile so much! It is so great.

Next we had a playdate with Ethan, movie night, and sushi takeout for mom and dad. It was a lovely day!

Ode to Joy Progress

Grace is getting ready for the recital in March!

She had a major goof up at the end, but in general she has made lots of progress and she will be ready! She practices it all the time.

Snow Day

We had a snow day today!

There was a lot of media coverage about this event, and the schools announced closures a full day ahead. I don't think it was nearly as bad as everyone thought, but I think the whole area decided we'd all like a day off and so we took one. The garbage pickup was cancelled. The mail didn't come. Even the zoo closed, and the zoo never closes!

Grace and I played outside. Clara stayed outside for about 30 seconds and then decided it wasn't for her.

We made a great snowman!

We made sugar cookies! We started with the dough.

So excited!

As you can probably guess, we got flour and dough all over the kitchen.

Decorating was fun too! Clara probably ate more sprinkles than she put on the cookies.

Grace took her job very seriously, of course.

What are we going to do with all these cookies? Grace wants to deliver care packages to our friends!
