Gotta Wiggle!

Grace had her 6 month doctor appointment yesterday and she received 4 shots and 1 disgusting tasting liquid shoved down her throat.  She was pretty upset about it.  She cried and had tears running down her face.  It was hard for me too!  I felt tears welling up in my eyes as well as I watched the scene helplessly.  The nurse asked "are you okay Mama?!"  No I'm not okay, I just watched my daughter get tortured!  But Grace seemed to forget about it pretty quickly, and felt up to smiling for the camera today.
I think she is so stylish in this blousy top and matching pants, picked out by my friend Alisha.
I think the strawberry hat goes especially well with this outfit.  It was knitted by my parent's neighbor Meg.  She wore it to the doctor's office and received admiring comments from passers by.
And this is just a silly video I took last week.  Sometimes you just have to wiggle!

Stunt Baby

Some of you have seen this, but to those that haven't, I present....  Stunt Baby!

An extremely thankful shout out to Sam's boy Brian.  Let's do this!

Sickies

We are sick today!  Actually, I'm feeling a lot better, and I think Grace is also, but yesterday and last night were pretty rough.  Grace has her first cold, and I think she is utterly confused and dismayed, not to mention slobbery.  You see, her second tooth has just sprouted in her mouth, and she is most likely in pain from that too.  She took forever getting to sleep, and when she did, she couldn't stay asleep for very long.  And when baby doesn't sleep, no one sleeps!    But even through all of this, she is still in cheerful spirits.  I snapped this picture this morning after washing all the snot off her face, and it took no time at all convincing her to show me her pearly whites!
She has also been learning how to eat solid foods, and she is doing well!  At first, she was really excited to get that spoon in her mouth, but she had no idea what to do with the food.  She grabs the spoon with her fist and shoves it in her mouth, which she learned by watching us eat, but then she would roll the food around in her mouth and give us this confused look.  Now she is mastering the art of swallowing and gets the majority of her meal inside rather than out!
Last night this Svensk Flicka (Swedish girl) tried sweet potatoes and seemed to really enjoy it!

Six Months Old!

Today our beautiful baby is 6 months old.  At the risk of sounding trite, my this time has flown by!  I'm almost always later to work than I want to be because I stand at the door and gaze at her for just a moment longer.
In this one you can really see her new tooth!
Daddy can't resist a snuggle, even if we are in the middle of a photo shoot.
This is her sailor suit as I call it.  It is pink with embroidered duckies, sailboats and anchors.  It has a neck tie that hangs down her back.
I think she is trying to make a popeye face with that smirk and half cocked eye.  Almost there, sweetie!
This picture would be even cuter if she wasn't smiling behind these teething keys, right?  I gave her these keys to hold because otherwise she was doing this:
This might be her new favorite outfit because when she is wearing it, there is always something available to stick in her mouth!
Last but not least, the awesome new hat Gini gave Grace for Christmas!  We all agree that it needs to be whiter though.
