Grace just completed her first session of swim lessons!
Here she is, looking adorable in her swim suit from GG!
Avery did swim lessons with us also. It was great having a good example in class! Avery has no fear. She had her arms outstretched every time the instructor was near, longing for her turn. Grace on the other hand was a little reluctant sometimes.
Mom was always close by!
I think she gained some confidence taking this class. She loved her instructor Miss Allie, and she is much more confident in the water. Grandma and Grandpa's swimming pool, here we come! (well not right away but sometime not too long from now, hopefully!)`
I feel a bit guilty that I laughed at this, but I think the swim instructors brought this on themselves. They got out this large raft for the swim class and floated everyone up and down, but it was over so quickly and Grace and Avery did NOT want to get out! They eventually had to just grab Grace and pull her out against her will.
I thought I should include a video of her actually swimming also:
You can really see that molar in this picture. She is working on two more!
She learned how to crawl this month, and she is all over the place! She gets into everything!
It was hard to take pictures of her this month because she keeps speed crawling to my camera lens and trying to grab it.
She is also more interactive and has figured out toys such as this car track. She babbles all the time, and often I think she is copying something I said. I could be imagining it being her proud mama, but I think she is trying to tell us things!
Of course, she is constantly getting in Grace's business. Sometimes it drives Grace crazy but sometimes they play and laugh!
Remember when I mentioned that our water heater broke? Since we had to move everything out of the way and clean up, we thought we would finally tackle the project of painting the laundry room floor.
When our water heater broke, we had to tear out some old and ugly carpet that we had been meaning to remove anyway. Underneath we found several layers of peeling paint over raw cement. We spent hours and hours scraping the paint off the floor and this is what it looked like right before we painted.
We decided to go with an epoxy garage floor coating. The application process is so toxic that we had to spend the night at Gini and Eric's while it dried. We told Grace it was a special sleepover and she loved it. We were over there long enough for her to overcome her intense fear of dogs for a moment and pet their adorable American Eskimo.
And here is the after picture! I love it! It has little paint flecks in it that Jason had to sprinkle as he painted. It was a lot of work but I think it was worth it!
It was a family concert so there were lots of other kids there. She did a good job whispering and sitting in her seat. The other kids around us where asking questions and Grace would turn around and inform them that it would be starting soon or whatever else they wanted to know. They even had booster seats so that she could see!
I had a stranger take our picture and Grace wasn't really into it, but I'm posting it anyway.
She really enjoyed watching Daddy and seeing where he works! Daddy really enjoyed having her there too. I think that Grace really did enjoy the music. She seemed most bored when the conductor was talking in between pieces. I had a piece of paper and a pencil and I drew circles for her to fill in when she was antsy. She IS only two! The anticipation may have been the best part. At 8 am today she was begging to go to the concert!
